Maria (Holzli) 86 of Clifton passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 23, 2012. Born in Ardud, Romania she came to the US in 1951 settling in NYC and resided in Passaic before moving to Clifton 44 years ago. Maria was a homemaker and a parishioner of St. Clare RC Church in Clifton. She was also a member of The Sathmarer Society of Passaic. Maria was the beloved wife of Stefan Lochli for 67 years, a devoted mother of three daughters, Mary Drelich and husband, Jerry of Wayne, Elizabeth Arnold and husband, Robert of Florida, Barbara Cramer and husband, Ray of Clifton, a proud grandmother of Darlene Gerritsen and husband, Bruce, Debbie Drelich, Keith Arnold and wife, Kira, Stefanie and Raymond Cramer, a cherished great grandmother of Christine and Kaityln Gerritsen and Thayne Arnold , a dear sister of Agnes Lingenhol of NY, Stefan Holzli of Germany and Mathias Holzli of PA, and a loving aunt, cousin and friend to many. She will now be reunited with her late parents, Mathias and Magdalena Holzli, her brother, Andreas Holzli and her grandson, Robert Arnold Jr. Maria was dedicated to caring for her family. She had a talent for cooking, sewing, and gardening and was much admired for her knack of baking. She enjoyed spending time with her large family and friends at her country homes in PA over the past 58 years. Maria was a kind and generous woman to all who knew her and will be sadly missed but fondly remembered.
Funeral service will begin 9:15AM Saturday at Allwood Funeral Home, 660 Allwood Rd., Clifton with a 10AM Mass at St. Clare RC Church. Burial will follow at Cresthaven Memorial Park. Visiting hours are Friday 2-4 and 7-9PM.
